Join us as we mix a drink or two and try our hands at making homemade cards. (Alternatively, just come hang out in the Zoom room with us!) The plan is to gather all the cards and donate them to Meals on Wheels as part of their outreach program (read more about it here: https://www.mowsf.org/cards).
Trang Le ‘20 will lead us through our efforts to make cards. As this is a virtual event, you need to do a little footwork ahead of time to gather art supplies:
A proposed lesson plan would be making a simplified version of this card. No complicated folds or cuts required.
2 types of paper
Cardstock paper (tougher paper than print paper, used for cards) — a lighter color is recommended so it’s easier to write stuff on, unless you have white markers
Origami paper (feel free to use the patterned paper or plain color)
Marker (Sharpie or Copic would be fine) or pen with relatively thick lines, because we are making cards for seniors with possibility of low vision
Scissors
Glue, or even better, glue gun (or tape if your skin is sensitive with glue, but the sticking might not be as accurate as using glue)
Here are possible designs we will make:

The important thing is that we get together and do something we consider meaningful to people, so it doesn’t have to be too complicated!
