Clothing Drive - Grateful Garment Project

grateful-garment.png

For the month of March, the Smith College Club of the Peninsula will participate in a clothing drive to support the Grateful Garment Project.

[3/21 UPDATE: Thus far the response from our Smith College alums has been astounding. We have already gathered over 350 items, and there's still a week to go. If you were planning to participate in the clothing drive, there's still time! From all of the items that we have gathered so far, we could still use more sweat pants and non-clothing items. Only new items can be accepted.]

About the Grateful Garment Project
The Grateful Garment Project is a local non-profit whose mission is to ensure that every victim of a sexual crime who crosses the threshold of a Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) facility or who seeks medical attention and/or law enforcement involvement is provided with whatever new clothing, toiletries, snacks, and other miscellaneous items that they may require. This encompasses all victims of sexual violence including, but is not limited to, Commercially Sexually Exploited Children (CSEC) and victims of Human Sexual Trafficking (HST).

The Vision of TGGP is that no victim of sexual violence in our community should ever experience further suffering due to a lack of clothing to wear home after he or she receives services from a Sexual Violence Service Provider.

Logistics
As a club, we will be gathering the items in a central location and bringing them to the Grateful Garment Project during the first week of April. The Amazon Wish List has the shipping address as a default. If you want to purchase items from anywhere else using the Hard Copy Wish List, please ship or drop off items at the following address:
